Learning for peace
Twentieth century social sciences and thought have revealed how peace is lost and how it can be recaptured and made strong.
That knowledge helps peace-making in some of the world’s worst afflicted places.
There is good education about peace in many universities but less in schools and little that has entered our communities as ‘general knowledge’.
Learning more about peace opens up ways for ourselves to make it stronger, for example by shaping our appraisals and guiding our reactions to relationships within and between groups and nations.
This website introduces some of that valuable learning through simple, realistic and practical peace-building activities.
The activities rest on widely shared wisdoms about peace. Simple early activities will lead on to ones that challenge deeper thought about Peace - its origin, its health, its influences in our lives and the possibilities for its growth and improvement.
With the many helpful things we now know and can do, we can make a calmer world.
