Evolution ‘wired’ our brains and gave us 'chemical' (hormone) systems that help us to thrive.
Well-judged gifts generate smiles of gratitude whether they are for sincere words of thanks, birthday presents, school prizes or Nobel Peace Awards.
Each smile of gratitude signals a 'good feeling' in the recipient.
More though, it can also trigger a 'feel-good' hormone effect in the donor, and even in other witnesses. Isn't that one of the reasons we make gifting 'an event' or even a 'party' ?
We like it as it adds a little bit to our 'inner-peace'.
.
Those bits of peace merit a special name, such as a 'quantum' of peace.
Benefitting from a gift leads to 'pleasure'.
A smile of pleasure signals 'gratitude'.
Both gift and smile trigger separate hormone effects that add 'quanta' of inner peace - to recipient and to donor.
In that way goodwill and helpful actions generate quanta of peace.
Over time, peace grows from sensitive helpfulness in communities.
.
That's how easy it is to make peace grow.
And that way fewer problems will be left in need of later, scarce and more costly help.
.
Of course there will be and are 'complications'.
More on that soon.
